Gaea Goddess Gathering The following describes the 2006 gathering. Keep checking back to see what will be happening in 2007. The dates of the 2007 gathering are Thursday, September 13th through Sunday, September 16th. Mark your calendars. The Gaea Goddess Gathering for 2006 is a 4-day women’s spirituality event focusing on the Celebration of the Goddess in every woman. GGG begins on Thursday, September 14th and runs through Sunday, September 17th. UBAKA HILL, internationally known drummer, teacher, performer, and visual artist has graciously accepted our invitation as featured guest speaker. She has become an inspiration to many who wish to learn to make or play drums, and share the power of drumsong as a tool of liberation, community building, healing, and personal joy. She will be presenting her workshop on Friday, and will also be performing in concert on Saturday night. Workshops covering a wide range of subjects are offered on Friday and Saturday. Some topics covered at recent festivals include: Psychic Development, Self-Healing, Political Action for Peace, Drumming, Therapeutic massage, Hands-on Artistic Creations, Herbal Mysteries, Goddess Lore, and Tribal Dance. Maiden workshops are offered for young women aged 10 to 16, and "Mini-Maiden" workshops are available for younger girls. This year's theme is 10 Years of Celebrating ALL Women, and our temple will honor the Goddess Bast, a Goddess of celebration and joy. Fiercely independent, like a cat, she is also the quintessential life affirming mother. Bast reminds us to be relaxed and playful like a cat and to find occasion to celebrate life.
